A Long Time to Be Gone by Michael McFee

I don't rate books by people I know more than in passing, so I'll leave stars off of this one, but I'll say that if you like McFee's work (as I do), you'll find a lot to like in this collection. If you don't know McFee, he's well worth a read, offering an Appalachian rootedness, keen observations of ordinary things, a sense of family and history, and very close attention to the way words sound together.
