This was one of my required readings for my German class last school year, and if I am honest, that's probably why my expactations were abysmally low. However, this book managed to absultely surprise me with how interesting and captivating it was as a required reading!
The idea of a state that controls the health of the people and how life is in that state was a very interesting idea. Mia Holl, the main character, manages to show us step by step how exactly such a system is oppressive and how fragile it is. She singlehandedly took on an entire government, talk about female power!
I love the speculative aspect this book encapsulated and the premise of a "modern day witch-hunt" was executed so well, even taking inspiration from real livibg people for its main character and main antagonist.
If you are a fan of science-fiction or dystopian fiction, I really recommend this. However, be aware that it touches some really intense topics.
