When I finished book one, I was so eager for this sequel. I couldn’t wait for more of Calla and Jonah’s story. Well. Considering the climax of this book took place at the end of book one, this was really just a bunch of falling action. TLDR: this was a novel length epilogue to book one.
That being said, of course I enjoyed being with Calla and Jonah. Their arcs and journeys continue to develop and unfold with real problems and such. But this book is really just bonus content/“a day in the life” for die hard fans of book one. I’m going to read the novella but I dont expect it to be anything over eventful.
**Update** Even though this book didn't GRIP ME like book one did, I really enjoyed it in hindsight. The characters and story are staying with me days later. I will definitely re-read this as a comfort re-read at some point.
