Classic tale about good and evil, a reflection on morality through the lense of a gripping adventure. An absolute blast to read in the summertime, accompanied me to the other side of the world and still had me on a chokehold for months. Had a blast.
Minor: Rape and Violence
I have to add something I never heard anyone talk about whilst talking about this book and it's a couple of very specific scenes that I found quite triggering. I'm referring to the implied rape scene the phisical violence that insues, the killing of the woman (and her extreme objectification) that I felt was so unnecessary and was just a harsh reminder of how fare we've come from the times in which this book was written;; on the same note, particularly disgusting was the execution scene in Rome, even if it's quite informative both from an historical point of view and in the developement of the Count's character.
