Adrienne had been wading through life as an acquiescent housewife and doting mother to their chronically ill son (Nicholas), until a 6’3” blast from the past (named Christopher) forces her to have a “moment of truth.” This book was full of deception, but I couldn’t allow myself to fully root for Adrienne even though Logan was trash. A lot of the conflicts could’ve been easily avoided if the characters were just honest with themselves, but I guess that was the point of the story. I enjoyed the plot but felt like the author really upped the naivety factor to make it work.
Graphic: Chronic illness and Infidelity
Moderate: Emotional abuse, Pregnancy, Gaslighting, and Abandonment
Minor: Domestic abuse, Rape, Sexual content, and Death of parent
