The beginning picturing abuse at the hands of grandfather is truly disturbing. The more pronounced is the contrast to this dark atmosphere once the girls escape to London and plot to get married. The beginning of this bit is hillarious and excellently done. The naration of the time on London and the endless banter is too long and at times tiring, but with the next escape to Bath, the plot picks up pace again, so I didn't quit reading. I thought this will be a 5 star, due to excellent dialogues and very well developed characters, but the plot just varies too much. That said, I ll read the other installments of the series. I like Anne Grace's writing and dialogues and enjoyed the book overall.
