This book was getting a 3 up until about half way. It was average but readable. No thought necessary. The kind of book you take on holiday, or read in your lunch break. There were some problematic sections for example the extremely gruesome cat murder, seriously, trigger warnings people. The characters were all pretty unlikeable, Adele I had pegged as a psychopath from very early on but then the ending...

What can I say about the ending that does not 'spoil' the book for anyone who might enjoy it. It's laughable, ridiculous, and frankly patronising to the reader. It was one of the worst endings in a novel I have ever read, ever. It was car crash bad, except a car crash would have been at least possible. It was so bad it actually made me think less of the other authors praising this book on the jacket. Please save yourselves and run a million miles in the other direction from this monstrosity of a novel.
