This review will contain spoilers as this is the second time I’ve read this book. The first time I was a teenager. Now, I’m a grown woman.
My thoughts from now and then are totally different. When I first read this book, I was enthralled with Michael Jackson. He could do no wrong in my eyes. Now, as a grown woman, I see past the enigma. He was only human and while he is the King of Pop, Rock, & Soul, he went through some STUFF just like all of us.
Rereading about his come up, broke my heart. I have my reservations about Joseph Jackson, but having those kids in night clubs was wrong. It altered Mike’s view on people, sexuality, and sooooo much more. When I read this as a kid, I thought nothing of it, but now, I understand why he shied away from a lot of things.
