The Doctor Will See You Now: The highs and lows of my life as an NHS GP by Amir Khan

3.0

I watch the show that made Amir Khan famous and he always comes across so likeable and just genuinely a nice person so I knew I would enjoy this book and I did. There were some sad stories in here and some indictments on the health service and how it has been run. I thought his points were well made, and his information about how GP practices are run was relevant and informative. The fact that so many medical professionals suffer assault is scary and horrible but not surprising. Having worked tangentially to the court system, sentences for offenders who assault frontline workers (and many of them do it multiple times) are woeful and completely inadequate and not in any way a deterrent.

I didn't learn anything new but I enjoyed it.
