This novella follows Marcus in the aftermath of Book 2 and his supportive army roots. Just like the previous novella, this isn’t necessary to read for the overall storyline. There were plot twists but this was my least favorite of the series so far, because it strayed so far from the first book and the heavy military content was kind of boring to me.
