DNF rating: 3/5 (If I'd finished, I probably would have rated this anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5.)
The cover art and premise are really good. Up until 25%, I was mildly interested in the plot. The main character Salem is also quite endearing. I just wasn't invested enough in the story to continue. The writing, while not terrible, is not to my taste either. I found that there were more similes than I cared for. I also didn't like the jarring POV switches. I might still give this a shot in the future.
