Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

5.0

I cannot properly express my emotions for these books writing (because I'm not that good at it 😂) so I made a video instead!

This is the first part where I start talking about Twilight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nklo_vz2OyY

I'm super bias because Twilight was my first favorite book of all time, the one that got me into reading and the one that made me realise I could actually have a crush on a fictional character, a.k.a Edward. Saying this, I actually think this book it's pretty great. Of course, it doesn't blow you away or anything like that but I don't think it's as awful as a lot of people say it is.

For instance, Bella is a really selfless person. She goes through a lot just to protect her parents, I love that relationship even though her mother is an as**ole. Charlie, on the other hand, was so sweet on this particular book, buying her a car just to make her feel better because he knows she doesn't like the town, that whole scene just warmed my heart.

Now, Edward can be quite intense but I liked that he was trying to make her happy and always made sure she was interested in doing everything they did. With one exception,
that scene where he takes her to prom was honestly so infuriating to me. I know she had fun at the end but she didn't want to go in the first place and it was totally wrong for Edward to force her. That's the only part where I truly didn't like him.

Their romance is intense and dramatic too but I kinda was expecting it so it wasn't a huge problem. Also, having in mind their future because I've reread the other books 9 times at least it was quite fitting, their love story is dramatic but epic and no one is ever going to change my mind about it 😂

I do have a suggestion if you haven't read this book and it is to read it alongside with Midnight Sun which is this exact same story but narrated from Edward's point of view. Everything makes a lot more sense and you get to know some times that you wouldn't otherwise, highly recommend reading these two together.
