I absolutely love Taylor Jenkins Reid. Every book by her is so compelling and the characters are so thoroughly written. Taylor's characters are so captivating that they can evoke such emotions in the reader. This holds especially true with her book One True Loves. This book tells the story of Emma, the youngest daughter of bookstore owners, who'd love nothing more than to bestow their bookstore onto their daughters. Oldest daughter Marie is the perfect daughter who loves the idea where as Emma wants nothing more than to scratch her wanderlust itch. Emma meets Jessee in high school and it's Jesee who will become the catalyst in her life. Emma and Jessee travel the world together making memories together far away from their families and the dreams their parents hold for them. On the day before their first wedding anniversary, Jessee leaves on a trip to Alaska, where his helicopter goes missing over the Pacific. Emma dealing with her grief moves back home and slowly craves out a new life for her. As she is slowly coming to terms with her new normal, along comes Sam. The boy who once worked at her parent's bookshop with her, as teenager. Sam helps Emma to become the best version of herself and slowly heal and fall back in love. But then news comes that Jessee is alive and coming home. Can one person have more than one true love, and how do you choose between the two? One True Loves is a captivating read of love, loss, healing, and finding yourself along the way.
