Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan

I’m undecided about this book. It frustrated me a lot. I didn’t like the dirty, depressing world. It wasn’t dystopian. It was base and ugly and repulsive. Don’t think it was supposed to be any kind of hopeful future and it’s certainly not the kind of future I’d want to live in, or anyone would. Didn’t like the protagonist too much. He’s very fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants. Kind of felt like we’d get some bad-assery at the final confrontation but no.
The book oddly ended up being what the reviews averaged out to, painfully mediocre.
