The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion

emotional reflective sad medium-paced

This was incredible. I enjoyed it immensely from the beginning to the end. It was captivating and kind and thoughtful and heartbreaking and uplifting and so many more things. To have my heart weep for someone's loss, someone who has since passed on herself, is magical. It is especially magical now that I look up her own death to realize she died only days earlier than her husband of whom she writes. He had passed on 12/30, she on 12/23. She had to endure 18 years without him, and yet, I suspect she did all right, once the first hard year had passed.
