Savage Bonds by J. Bree

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

Everything I’ve done for the last five years has been to keep these men safe and alive. I can play the part of a subservient and placid Bond today if it helps to keep them safe. Someday I’m sure they’ll all appreciate it. Just not today.

This book, just like the first one, is fabulous. The fantasy/paranormal aspects really starts kicking in, and we get to see more about the characters’ powers, and we start to get to know them all a little better. Oleander’s motives and abilities start coming to light, and the dynamics between her and (most) of her bond mates evolve.

It’s also fun to see the relationhips between the guys in the harem changing. It’s difficult to distinguish the books from each other as it all reads as one big story, so this will be light on specifics. Oleander and Sage’s relationship continues to shine. I want a friendship like they have, because it’s amazing. Oleander’s badassness also shines through even more in this, and I can’t even explain the joy I get from big ‘tough’ guys being terrified of her. Delicious.

We get to meet Oleander’s ‘bond’ properly as well, and man, that bond is a jealous, bloodthirsty and possessive b*tch, lol. A lot of fun.

I so highly recommend this series.

I feel like him confirming that Nox has issues is like confirming the sky is blue or that the sun will rise in the morning. Obvious and sort of stupid to even say.

I try to stop but my bond is not having it. Not at all. If people are here after our bonds, then they’ll pay. They’ll all have to learn what we’re capable of. I feel my eyes shift and it’s game over for any chances of rational thought. “Fuck. Call Shore and tell him we’re coming in hot,” Atlas snaps […].
