Borrowed Time: An AIDS Memoir by Paul Monette

emotional sad slow-paced

5.0

An incredibly moving account of AIDs and a deeply heartfelt memorial to his relationship with Roger. This is one of those books that felt like bearing witness, not just to one couple's experience of this pandemic and their deep love for each other, but to the entire moment of time and to how those who fought unceasingly to do their bit, whether big or small. So many of the gut punch lines in this are throwaway comments by people helping them, a real testament to people who tirelessly helped in any way they could and the tangible impact it had on individual's lives.
