We Are All Made Of Glue by Marina Lewycka

3.0

I have read this author's other two works and I felt the same about them as I did this one. They are perfectly readable but they are rambling and actually they are character studies. Absolutely nothing happens. I can sum up the plot in one paragraph but the characters would be much harder to describe. If you like character driven novels then you will like it.

I did like it but with reservations. I hated most of the characters and really the cats were the stars of the book for me. I couldn't care less about the humans and actually even the main character who was, I presume, supposed to be the most likeable, just wasn't. Also this book gets described as funny just like her other books and I think if you are finding these books funny then there is probably something wrong with you.

There is also quite a lot about the Israel/Palestine conflict so if you find that triggering I would give this book a miss.
