An Education in Malice by S.T. Gibson

thia book could be summed-up with one word: anticlimactic. someone said it lacked soul, and that's exactly how it feels. it was trying to achieve something (chemistry) that ended up being unreachable (just because you make them 'rivals' doesn't mean the tension is already there and the reader is going to be rooting for them). carmilla and laura used to hate each other, and then "laura caused a scene at the party" (which, she didn't, because she just looked down at the floor and left) and then they love each other. ah wonderful (i'm so disappointed)
