The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey

2.0

This was so unbelievable and made no sense. I think the people who enjoyed this sci-fi about cloning people to be "tools" probably liked that the book explored concepts of ethics and greed and deception with a clone story frame. The scientists here didn't just clone genetics, they created people, organic matter, from dna, into fully formed adults who were obedient. The protagonist was so unlikeable. She goes into my top-3 unlikeable protagonists in 2021. I read til the end because this is on the Tournament of Books Shortlist.
