This book warmed my soul . . . it made me smile . . . it made me happy. I could have read it in a day or so, but I wanted to let the taste of each linger on my tongue before I moved forward. It is a beautiful book about two people connecting over the love of books. Hanff's comes across as crisp, witty, and a big-time booknerd in these short letters. It's heartwarming to see how books can connect so many people in years-long friendship. What particularly made me feel fuzzy was how Hanff used to send food parcels during Christmas and Easter for the entire staff and even their families! Such a pure bond was formed.
