Holy Feast and Holy Fast: The Religious Significance of Food to Medieval Women by Caroline Walker Bynum

challenging slow-paced

5.0

Okay so. On the one hand. This is a super interesting read of medieval women, religion, food, and symbolism that really got me thinking and is going to stick with me for a while. I’m going to poke around for more recent literature on the subject.

On the other hand. Catholics. And so, so many, sooooo many vore jokes.
