HEA: Happily Ever After by Molly Maddox, Lucy Lennox

5.0

I always sort of thought Oscar was obnoxious and I didn't really love when he was inserted in the the earlier installments of this series. He was always sort of a weird comedic relief that was just sort of there and then gone.
Now I know why.
Sweet baby angel, honey child Oscar is precious and damaged and fragile and I want to heal his broken little baby bird wings to help him fly.
But, I can't because Hugh does. AND I HAVE NEVER LOVED A SET OF CHARACTERS THIS MUCH IN EVER I THINK.
SO patient, and pure, and calm, and understanding and sure of himself and his self worth. GODDAMN HUGH, I was in love with you too babe.
The romance was never a back and forth situation. It was just a constant understanding and respect for the other man's boundaries, they were friends until they were more. It was literally so healthy and refreshing to watch. I loved.

Oscar's backstory made every single cameo he made in the other books make sense.
Hugh being in love with love was the perfect match for Oscar's jaded view on life. Once they finally committed to the damn thing it was even more special.

It was honestly like the most perfect ending to a series.
