The iconic young reader dystopia.

I wish I had actually read this as a kid instead of picking it up, petting its cover, and then putting it down literally every time I went to the bookstore. Past me was somewhat lacking in gumption.

Frankly, I was a little surprised that
SpoilerJen STRAIGHT UP WAS SHOT AND MURDERED BY THE GOVERNMENT.
Like. Okay? I had totally interpreted that danger as 100% threat 0% reality, but you do you. The stakes for the next book have been successfully upped.
