As a child, I was scared of the movie Coraline because claymation freaked me out—I gotta say, the book is much creepier!

The tone for this story was fantastic. The matter of fact narration, which fits perfectly with a child’s mindset and interpretation of the world, made the eerie descriptions even creepier. The other mother is nightmare fuel, and Coraline is much tougher than I would have been.

A very fun read, which would be perfect for anyone really (though I would think a bit before giving it to a child to read—some can for sure read it, but not little Dani’s).
