The Devil of Downtown by Joanna Shupe
4.0
I love reading the women in Shupe's worlds. They're very connected to what makes them happy and don't mind fighting for that passion. It says a lot about how the writers sees women. And I very much like it.
I think the only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is I felt like the external conflict wasn't quite done in a way I felt was a solid wrap. I just wanted a bit more reflection on how to work within the confines of her roles since what she wanted wasn't achievable. Some times you have to work with a little dirt and muck on your boots.
That was the only reason I downgraded.
