The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

After five days I can finally write a review for this book πŸ˜‚

Regarding the characters I absolutely adored how they were flawed and not perfect all the time. There were some moments were I prefered Patroclus and then some others where I was on Achilles side, but at the end of the day I do have to say Patroclus was my favorite character in this book. He is so selfless and would risk anything to save the love of his life even if it is from himself.

Nontheless, these two characters made it to my all time favorite characters list since Achilles is also a great person that treats everyone nicely enough and never brags about the things he does so much better than anyone else.

Moreover, I'm a huge greek mythology fan so that made this book that much more enjoyable. Getting to see these iconic characters and some myths with their own unique twists in this book was quite entertaining to read and I was hooked since the beginning.

What impressed me though, was that The Song of Achilles actually made me cry. I don't cry that often so it was surprising to find myself with tears on my face. It wasn't a loud cry but I did tear up and that's what matters πŸ˜‚.

Honestly, the only reason this book doesn't have 5 stars is because I thought it was going to be epic thanks to all the hype around it and it ended up not being that for me. This is one of those cases where if I had had lower expectations, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more which is sad.
