Doctor Faustus - Second Edition by Christopher Marlowe

5.0

Marlowe's Faustus has incredible introduction and ending. Some of the parts in the middle are less interesting, and you could make the case that the author kind of loses the plot (possibly a result of the edition including unnecessary side plots? After all, if they were cut, they were cut for a reason). But even with that, I'm more than happy with the text, it's a decent enough story and a powerful collection of motifs.

Faustus also happens to be a great character. Very complex for its time.
