So I finally decided to read the classic Carmilla that led to Bram Stoker's Dracula. I have to say, kicking myself for waiting this long to read it.
Super quick and short read but SUPER well written and incredibly interesting. I am definitely amazed at how things happened "back in the day" because that's wild that TWO families took this random lady in without any prior knowledge of who she was. But besides that, she bamboozeled them all hella fast! It was a beautiful story and heart wrenching for the main character who just wanted a companion in her lonely life and ended up with a lesbian vampire who was slowly killing her. (To be fair I would've probably chosen the hot lesbian vampire)
