I hadn’t read a play in SO so long. This just reminded me why I love the theatre💕 While this is a two person show, I could see the entire cast of characters taking to the stage so clearly. These two people play so many different characters throughout the span of this work and I imagine it must be such a task to take on. I enjoyed imagining how I would stage a version of this- potential set changes, costumes, lighting, etc. In 48 pages, Orlandersmith manages to pack such a punch and deeply discuss colorism and all its nuances….this was just incredible. I felt that the ending of the play came so suddenly that it didn’t feel truly resolved, however, I think I would feel differently if I were to see this live.
