Women Who Dig: Farming, Feminism, and the Fight to Feed the World by Trina Moyles

5.0

I can’t believe this has so few reviews, it was excellent. Women Who Dig is a three year research foray into the struggles and success of female farmers around the world. The author contrasts the unique issues women face when farming versus their male counterparts.

From farming in the wake of Congolese genocide to eking out an existence as a migrant in Sonoma county, to the wholistic urban farming of Cuba, the situations in which women have turned to the earth to provide could not be more different.

I’d recommend this if you’re interested in women’s studies, sociology, or conservationism.
