Demon's Dream: An Unexpected Love by Elle Kayson
5.0
5/5 Stars
TW (from my memory): sexual assault, murder, death, physical and mental abuse
If you told me at the beginning of the year, I was going to read a 700+ page romance, I would've called you a lie and a cheat. However, I kept seeing people who had similar reading taste rad this and was like YEAH GET INTO IT! So, I buddy read it with a friend, and we read it in less than 2 days. Literally.
So we follow Dream, who is basically a pawn in deal between her family and another's due to her brother's stupid decisions. We meet Demon who is someone who has been through so much as a child, he seems almost demonic and inhuman, and somehow Dream makes him see his own humanity. In between their romantic growth we have twists, turns, cartels, and so much more.
I typically don't care for HEAs (happily ever after), but it actually made sense for this book. I actually really enjoyed. Will I reread it? Maybe. But I do encourage people to read it if you love Black indie romance with a rough edge to it.
