10/10. i do not have enough words for this book, it was absolutely amazing and not at all what i thought it would be. an intense combination of fantasy and real life, war, rivals to lovers, anonymity, plenty of characters to fall in love with, and plot twists for days. roman carver kitt is the blueprint for all fictional men, i absolutely adored him throughout the course of the entire book. he fell first and harder and sacrificed every part of himself for iris. i’m not sure i’ve ever read a book that filled my stomach with so many butterflies. the ending has destroyed me, but i understand that had to be done for the sake of the sequel (which i shall be starting momentarily). for anyone who things this book may not be their cup of tea, give it a shot!!! not once was i bored with the plot, the action and romance kept me on my toes and flipping pages as quick as i possibly could
