Small Town, Big Magic by Hazel Beck

2.0

Emerson really annoyed me in the beginning of this book, you can have a strong female lead without having so much arrogance (especially repeating the same arrogant phrases every few chapters). But, she really does evolve into someone who is a strong female lead, who not only knows of her importance and strength, but depends on her friends to make her even stronger. She is strong on her own, but with her friends she’s even stronger. I also feel like this book is described as more of a romance, especially when compared to ‘The Ex Hex’ and ‘Paybacks a Witch’, when it’s definitely more of a fiction (fantasy??) with a side of romance and isn’t a comedy.

However it was a really good book, there was never a dull moment, and I’m excited for the next book to come out to find out what the Joywood has in store for Emerson and her friends.
