[…] every time they were within ten feet of each other, he couldn’t decide if he wanted to strangle the arrogant man or throw himself into his arms.

When I saw a promo post for this, I *knew* I needed to read it. Paranormal, bodyguard, age gap and shifters? SO sold. Thankfully, it more than lived up to my expectations. I had tons of fun while reading it, and I finished it super fast.

There’s definitely a case of push and pull in this, but I thought the reasoning behind it was solid, so it wasn’t as annoying as I usually find that trope. The build-up of sexual tension was lovely.

“I don’t know what the future holds,” Jeremiah whispered against his skin. “But I know that I won’t just die for you, Remington. I will live for you, and I will fight for you. […]”

These authors managed to create a very original paranormal fantasy world, and it really was a joy to explore it and learn how it all works and the dynamics between different species and countries. The action was super well done as well, and I am so excited for the second book! Very highly recommend.

The few humans close by scattered as soon as they drew near, and Jeremiah could only guess what he looked like: eyes lit up with blue flames, fangs protruding from his mouth, and smoke rising from his shoulders. Anyone with even just a few brain cells left would know to get the fuck out of his way.
