The Faerie Pawn by Michelle Madow
3.0
Okay. This series has many things that bother me. It is plagued with ideas from other books, the number one being the hunger games. It is literally the hunger games with faeries. Not only that, but this faeries follow the Roman empire traditions and they worship their Gods. Look, don't take me wrong, I love faeries and I love the Roman mythology but this combination was awful. At fist I thought It could be interesting, I am open to knew ideas and stories, but the way the author did it just wasn't working. It didn't make sense for the faeries to worship the ran gods when they are literally from a different world. And faeries are supposed to be one with nature and such. It just took away all their personality and the unique world they could have been. Also, we have the obvious soulmate shit. I love soulmates when there is magic envolver, the part that I didn't like about this one is the obvious part. Everything was very obvious in general.
So why do I give the book 3 stars when there are so many things I don't like? Well, because in terms of grammar and structure and such it was readable and even though it frustrated me to no end, I still read the second because I just wanted to know what happened next. Although maybe we can blame that on me just being curious and not liking to leave things without knowing how it ends.
