Wow, this book exceeded all my expectations! The character development is amazing, and I love how the main characters evolve throughout the story.
At first, I was a bit surprised by some of the twists and the reappearance of certain characters, but everything made sense as the story unfolded.
Shusterman's writing is really captivating and his world-building is so convincing, and I usually struggle with futuristic settings, but I was completely engrossed in this one. I do have a few minor gripes about the futuristic aspects, though. For example, it seems unlikely that the Thundercloud would still use Fahrenheit as a measure, considering it's already such an outdated unit of measurement. Additionally, the portrayal of aircraft limitations toward the end of the book left me wondering if advancements in technology would make traditional runways obsolete in the future.
Despite these concerns, I really enjoyed the book, and the cliffhanger ending was incredible (if frustrating). But it has me eagerly anticipating the next installment! Now I need to just get my hands on the next book!
