A revenge story (primarily) but also a mystery, a cautionary tale, and a romance rolled into one. A wild ride of a book that I think—despite its admittedly slow moments—everyone should read at least once in their lives.
Those last chapters had me in wistful, sad, but contemplative longing. A masterpiece of literature!
