Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow by Yuval Noah Harari

5.0

(A special shout-out to Derek Perkins, the narrator of Harari's books as he's done a PHENOMENAL job! I can listen to him all day long.)
If I thought Sapiens was great, Homo Deus was even better! Sapiens blew my mind, but Homo Deus did me one better-pieced it back together. There is so much packed into Homo Deus that I don't only need time to process the information, but this review won't do justice to the treasure trove this book is.

Harari is blunt, and I found myself agreeing with most of the things (maybe, because I'm an atheist and a little blunt in my worldview as well. But I have seen several religious people agreeing with him, too).

One of the theories, that is the centre of the book, is that Homo sapiens are not going to evolve naturally, and we might genetically engineer ourselves, leading to the birth of a new species: Homo deus—an 'amortal' species. He's extensively covered topics like technology, current political situation, and algorithms that might take over the human life.

Just like Sapiens, it will make you think, question the ways of the world, and linger in your mind for days to come.
Verdict: Why are you not picking it up already?
