I think my favorite thing about these year of the sanderson books is that you can just tell he wrote these stories just for the love of it. Yumi and Painter were both really great characters to follow and watch grow. Their struggles made them feel real and tangible. The world was so fascinating too, and I love how he used the setting as a love letter to the arts. Hoid was of course his usual fantastic and witty narrator, but I think it might have been a tad overdone by the end. Still a very enjoyable read, especially with the gorgeous illustrations!
