The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah

5.0

Another beautifully written and heart-wrenching story from Kristen Hannah. I read The Nightingale year’s ago and I immediately loved her writing. The Great Alone was a tale of drama, loyalty, love, and the Wild spirit of homesteading in Alaska in the 1970s. I thoroughly enjoyed diving into the experience of being Leni through her teenagehood to her transformation into a woman. This book captured the essence of capacity with human love and cruelty. We saw a lot of happiness and sorrow with characters and I spent a lot of late nights reading this. I also shed a fair amount of tears because good books make me emotional. I felt utterly attached and a part of Leni’s life and felt the aches, sorrows, and bliss that she felt in her heart.

You have not experienced a great drama/romance novel until you have read something by Kristin Hannah. I highly recommend. You’re missing out by not picking this book up.
