Light From Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki

5.0

4.5 stars rounded up. TWs in this one for a broad variety of topics, including abuse and self-harm.

I loved the combo of sci-fi and supernatural characters, as well as the way Aoki tackles Katrina Nguyen's complex feelings about herself and a lot of subtopics that come along with those things. This book creatively walks through a lot of hard-learned life lessons, and it has some very sweet moments. The details were so well thought-out.

The way this book is written won't be for everyone: Aoki changes characters' points of view frequently. It didn't bother me, but other reviewers complained about it.
