2020 on Goodreads by

1.0

Like my grandma's new favorite mug says, I am grateful to have seen the end of this dumpster-fire year. Like many, 2020 zapped my energy to read as much as I'd hoped to. However, I'm thankful for the time I did spend with books this year, and for the many ways readers, libraries, and indie booksellers support people pursuing our favorite pastime during the pandemic. The virtual access made it easier for me to join reading groups, and the world events motivated me to develop my politics in part through what I read. I also found some beautiful, beautiful stories that are still on my mind.

So, with no further ado, here are my top 10 of 2020 (in chronological order of when I read them):

Goals for 2021: reading more books that interrogate the planning field or develop my politics, while also committing to read for pleasure. I think the numbered goal will be 40 books, but I want to remain flexible with adjusting this as time goes on. Finally, I want to continue reading in community, and continue sharing my meme reviews: y'all watch out, 2021 might even be the year I learn how to hyperlink images on Goodreads!
