The Days of Abandonment by Elena Ferrante
5.0
This is a surprisingly bitter and biting read. The premise of a scorned woman mourning her dismantled marriage isn't exactly an appealing one so I was slightly apprehensive when I first started this book. However, Ferrante's writing (as well as that of the translator) is really something special and the amount of anger in this book is unexpected but warmly welcome. Everything about this book is seething and it is beautifully executed.
