The audio made this book somewhat enjoyable because I did not enjoy the writing at all. I knew I wanted to read the whole book as it is for the book club I run, and unless there is a glaring reason to DNF my book club books I like to finish them to lead an adequate discussion. I think another problem for me was that I don't care for work place romances at all. I can't tell you one I have liked in the past, but I especially dislike academia work place romance. This reminded me too much of Ali Hazelwood's academic romances, and those gave me the big ick. This one didn't give me as big of an ick (besides one fact about their past), and the element of adventure served this story well. Without that I would have probably not finished this book. Also the lack of Kylo inspo helped, but that's a reflection on Ali Hazelwood. I'm kinda mad about the epilogue because honestly that sounds like a better book than this one. If it gets written, I might consider reading. I think it would make a really good like cozy adventure story instead of a romance. Basically I'm saying that the only way any sequels would do well is if it is about their adventures together and not about their romance.
