Animorphs is a science fantasy series of children's books. The story revolves around five humans: Jake, Marco, Cassie, Rachel and Tobias, and one alien, Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill (nicknamed Ax), who obtain the ability to transform into any animal they touch. Naming themselves "Animorphs" they use their ability to battle a secret alien infiltration of Earth by a parasitic race of aliens resembling large slugs called Yeerks, that can take any living creatures as a host by entering and merging with their brain through the ear canal. The Animorphs fight as a guerilla force against the Yeerks who are led by Visser Three.
There's no time limit to the challenge as this series handles some heavy topics that need digesting and bingeing is not good for that.
The reading order suggested here doesn't follow publication date for the companion books but arranges them in a way to not spoil plot points/ease the reading flow, but you can read them in whichever order you prefer.
If you don't have the paperbacks, the series is currently available as e-books you can find with a google search, audiobooks that are coming out monthly (as of writing this you can find the first 10 on spotify if you want to stream them) and 4 graphic novels so far. All these formats count for the challenge!
