Bra läst men egentligen ger inte romanen mig så mycket att tänka på. Minns filmen..

A creepy and altogether distressing ghost/haunting story set in rural England. A bit of a slog for me tbh, but I think it was me, not necessarily the book, which is relatively short. CW: death of young children

Prose is overtly descriptive for my taste so I got bored while trudging through it. Later I listened to the Radio Drama Adaptation on YouTube and really enjoyed the story through that.

I really enjoyed this book, it's a super easy fast read that got me READY for spooky season. I really enjoyed the isolation elements of the story, using the location and difficulty to get to the location as a tool to really feel afraid. The last couple of pages were absolutely heartbreaking and I loved that our story ended that way.

Eine nette Geistergeschichte aber nicht sehr spannend. Der einzige Fall in dem ich sage, dass der Film besser ist

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated

Very quick but unsettling read.
Saw the old movie years ago and it still gives me the creeps, need to rewatch to see if it is as scary today. Then there is the remake with Daniel Radcliffe to see.
