I particularly admired how this story navigates conversations around consent, and considering the needs of another in a relationship the way you would want to be considered. This might mean walking away from a potential relationship because you know what the other person wants is not what you can or want to give at the time. It also means walking away when you feel uncomfortable rather than feeling obligated to engage in an interaction at your own expense. It's ok to ask for what you want and voice how you would like to be treated. Maia seems like a gentle soul, and I admired eir courage and kindness in relational and social situations in this story.

 A memoir to read! As someone who does not had body dysmorphia due to gender dysmorphia, this memoir really open my mind to another experience. I like the choice of it being a graphic novel, as it really illustrates the struggles Maia experienced. I also like the drafts at the end of the book. I enjoy seeing the process and how the art came to be.

So much of the author's gender journey resonated, but so much of it was also different. The exploration of that journey in the graphic novel formal worked really well for me. The author covers a lot of ground, but the narrative never feels choppy. Also, loved the colors!

This memoir suffered from the usual issues a young persons memoir usually does, it comes across as a list of things happening with little to no reflection on them. If you are unaware of the experience of gender dysphoria and asexuality I could see you learning from this. But otherwise, I don't see much to write home about, let alone ban (!?!?) 
I'm looking forward to more memoirs from trans and non binary people, hopefully this book and Elliot Page's Pageboy pave the way.
