I didn't know how to rate this. It's powerful, but...it's so sad. It's so depressing and just...despair. It trapped you in despair. It's not enjoyable, even if it's written so well. I need to shake it off.

Such a unique piece of Holocaust literature. Very brief but very powerful and easy to read.

Wow, just wow. The opening story about the shawl alone will suck you into this story. It's historical fiction in a sense, but the story it tells in a thin, thin volume packs a big punch.

A tiny-huge book. Both The Shawl and Rosa are a must to understand the means of survival.

This book includes The Shawl (a short story) and Rosa (a novella). The Shawl was a wrenching story, and as such I had a hard time listening to it. Rosa was much more interesting, but it had a fairly abrupt ending that seemed to leave the reader hanging, although it is perfectly set up for a continuation of the story at some point.

Poetic, powerful and disturbing. More so after having just visited a concentration camp.
