Wow, it's been a while since the book grabbed me from the first page and wouldn't let me go until the last one. Different POVs can be a little confusing, but they all were nicely tied together in the end. I wouldn't say that the ending was all that shocking to me. Still, it was a really good read.

What's interesting about this novel is the constant change of perspective. In this novel that serves the purpose of making sure that the reader never really gets more attached to one character over another. That has pretty much 2 effects, which are that you don't really hate any of the characters too much but you also don't really love any of the characters either.

A little disappointing considering how great all his other books are. But I can forgive him one book.

I read this book YEARS ago and I kinda gasped when I stumbled across it again today. I know I really enjoyed it, but I won't rate it until I get my hands on a copy and re-read it.

this wasn't as good as 'gone but not forgoten'. there are a set of murders in 1961. roy makes it is his mission to find out who did them. as the years go by, the case grows cold, until roy is called to another crime where he meets up with a witness from the murders. roy does whatever it takes to get her to say what he wants to hear. she will say anything to keep him near.
